Physics Update Courses 2009-10

Inspirational weekend residential courses designed to give teachers the opportunity to update their knowledge of recent developments in physics and to explore new activities for use in the classroom.

An Affiliated Schools Scheme that provides resources, including newsletters, posters and careers material

 

Are you looking for local support? The Institute has established a Physics Teacher Network covering the whole of Great Britain and Ireland to provide support for physics teachers.

 

The Science and Technology Facilities Council and the Institute of Physics have set up a small grants scheme designed specifically for schools and colleges.

 

The Education Department supports a number of email discussion lists designed to provide you with a forum to share ideas, ask questions and exchange views.

 

Physics Education is a journal for everyone involved in and concerned about the teaching and learning of physics in schools and colleges

The Science Additional Specialism Programme (SASP) is designed to enable teachers without a first degree or secondary initial teacher training specialism in either physics or chemistry to teach the subject more effectively
