Career Highlights
I went to The National Physics Laboratory as a vacation student while I was at University. After graduating I worked in the Optical Metrology Division for six years. I then had a career break to bring up my children. During this time I took a teaching course and have been teaching (mainly Physics) ever since. I retired from being Head of Science at Watford Girls Grammar School in July 2007.

I was a pilot teacher for the SHAP A level course based at York and helped with the revision the course materials for September 2008.

I have been a Network Coordinator for London for the past two years. On moving to Ambleside at the end of August 2009 I jumped at the chance to be the coordinator for Cumbria.

Personal Interests
I recently retired, so I at last have time to do some of the things I have always wanted to try like potting and I have taken up sailing again. I am also getting fit exploring my beautiful new surroundings.
