Current Position
Head Of Physics at St John Fisher Catholic High School, Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire.

Career
After a joint degree in Physics and Geology at Keele University a PGCE followed. I have since taught in three different schools – Wolstanton High School in Newcastle Under Lyme, St Margaret Ward School in Stoke on Trent (where Robbie Williams went to school) and then onto St John Fisher as Head of Physics.

I have taught General Science, CASE Science, Maths and now teach mainly Physics.

Links with other Agencies
I have always been a member of the ASE and have links with Keele University (particularly the new Physics Enhancement Course).

Personal Interests
I enjoy relaxing! I play badminton and tennis and am currently learning (together with my children) the piano – although I am the one who always gets told off for not practicing properly. I enjoy all music, particularly classical and I like going to the opera!

Aim/Mission
To set up a mutually supportive network, that will offer quality support to all those who teach Physics and/or who have an interest in its survival. To be able to facilitate the sharing of idea’s and good practice which will enthuse all teachers of Physics. I am interested in taking Physics out of the lab and enabling students to experience real Physics by visiting many of the local facilities in the Midlands, including Jodrell Bank and the National Space Centre.
