Retired, formerly Assistant Head, Walbottle Campus Technology College.
Career
I worked as a teacher of physics at Walbottle Campus (Newcastle) for 35 years as Head of Physics, Head of Science, Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Head (Data Handling), though not all at the same time. I am particularly interested in applications of physics in toys and everyday life. Physics is all around us. I seem in my time as Network Coordinator with IOP to have become an expert in using "toys" to explain and challenge our understanding.
Personal Interests
Apart from the physics I have led the schools Duke of Edinburgh Groups, Ski Groups, Choirs, Orchestras and play the Northumbrian Pipes and violin myself. I am also involved with local church, including youth groups (even at my age!) and have been for years.
