Current Position
Teacher at Thomas Hardye School, Dorchester.

Career
I have taught science and physics for many years. My particular interests are in teaching astronomy, and space science. I have taken two groups to the Isaac Newton group of telescopes on La Palma to take observations on the Jacobus Kapteyn telescope.

Links with other Agencies
I run a support group for students taking a distance learning certificate in Astronomy and also Cosmology with the University of Central Lancashire, and continue to teach a space science course for gifted students.

Personal Interests
I am a radio amateur and enjoy oil painting. I also keep chickens.

Aim/Mission
I hope to set up network meetings in Dorset and Hampshire based at different centres (as the counties are quite well spread out). Initially the links have been made through Physics Masterclasses at A level, and teacher sessions on the Options in the specification. Several gifted and talented sessions have been set up for students in year 10 to encourage them, their teachers and their parents.
