Physics Update Courses: 2009-2010
Three-day inspirational residential courses for teachers of physics based at various locations around the UK. Subsidised by the Institute of Physics and co-sponsored by the Armourers and Brasiers Company, these are great value courses located in pleasant surroundings.
The lecture component of the programme is devised to update participants on innovations in physics, both pure and applied, and in curriculum matters. "Hands-on" workshops afford teachers opportunities to try new equipment, develop new IT skills, learn new experimental techniques, try out novel investigations and engage with alternative teaching and learning strategies.
Advancing Physics INSET
Each Year the Institute runs a number of courses aimed at teachers new to Advancing Physics AS or A2. Featuring workshops led by experienced AP teachers, they will give a grounding in the content, management, teaching and assessment of the course.
