Autumn Physics Update
Dates: 11-13 December 2009
Course Location: Engineering Department, University of Cambridge
Accommodation: Wolfson Building, Trinity College
This course will commence at 12.30pm on the Friday and finish at 1pm on the following Sunday. The programme will include
- Lectures from distinguished speakers
- Workshops where you will have the opportunity to try out new practical ideas
- Meals (a mixture of buffet lunches and formal dining)
- Accommodation near the university (if required)

Lectures
The lecture component of the programme is devised to update participants on innovations in physics, both pure and applied, and in curriculum matters.

Workshops
"Hands-on" sessions afford teachers opportunities to try new equipment, develop new IT skills, learn new experimental techniques, try out novel investigations and engage with alternative teaching and learning strategies.

The Institute of Physics is keen to welcome teachers who have not had the opportunity to attend a Physics Update course before; therefore we will be giving priority to new applicants. We will also be reserving a number of places for teachers who have attended previous Physics Updates.
