Career Breaks

Men and Women need to take career breaks for many reasons, such as child rearing or looking after a relative. The following information has been provided to help people at this time.

If you are looking for information on voluntary breaks from your career for travelling or overseas work, go to the gap year page. This page hosts information for the more mature physicist, as well as those straight from University.

Journals: One benefit of membership is the provision of three free electronic journals.

Career Break Brief for Physicists: The Institute has a Professional Brief with this title. Briefs are free to members and £5 to non-members. Click here to see the full list. Please provide your membership number, where applicable, in any correspondence.
