Dr Hermann Hauser
Partner, Amadeus Capital Partners Ltd
Hermann Hauser is a ‘serial entrepreneur’ and partner and co-founder of Amadeus Capital Partners. He previously co-founded the Acorn Computer Group PLC and subsequently became vice president of research at Olivetti where he established a global network of research laboratories. In all, Dr Hauser has founded over 20 technology companies, and in 1997, he launched Amadeus Capital Partners. He was awarded an Honorary CBE in 2001 for ‘innovative service to the UK enterprise sector’ and in 2004 was made a member of the Government’s Council for Science and Technology.
Sir Peter Knight
Deputy Rector (Research), Imperial College, London
Sir Peter is Deputy Rector – Research at Imperial, responsible for the College’s research strategy, a member of the Imperial College Management Board and Council, and Professor of Quantum Optics. Sir Peter is chair of the Defence Scientific Advisory Council at the UK Ministry of Defence and a member of the Science and Technology Facilities Council. Knight was also Chief Scientific Advisor at the UK National Physical Laboratory until the end of 2005. Sir Peter was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2005 for his work in optical physics. And, has recently been awarded a Royal Medal by the Royal Society.
