Professor Ian Morrison
Joule Physics Laboratory, University of Salford

Professor Ian Morrison is the Head of Physics and professor of computational physics at the University of Salford.

Professor Morrison holds a PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics from the University of Newcastle and his current research areas are in the atomistic simulation of materials with particular application to new materials for energy storage, conversion and production, such as hydrogen storage materials.

Professor Morrison is currently leading course development at Salford, embedding employer-related awareness, relevance and skills into physics degrees. This is a collaborative venture with the Institute of Physics as part of the Stimulating Physics project, funded through the national HE STEM programme.
