Sponsorship Opportunities for Business Affiliates

Education and Schools

· 11-14 Physics - Professional development for science teachers of 11 to 14 year olds, supported by CD-based resources around the core themes of the Physics curriculum (Energy, Forces, Electricity and Magnetism, Light and Sound, and Space). Scale: £10K contributions, up to £50K to fund one CD fully.
· Schools Lectures - Inspiring lectures on physics and it's applications. Scale: £10K contributions.
· Teacher Network - Supporting teachers and encouraging the sharing of best practice, administered by regional liaison officers. Can provide sponsors with an effective route into local schools. Scale: £7K funds one regional officer.
· Paperclip Physics - National physics competition for schools. Scale: £20K to £50K contributions.
University Students

· Nexus National Events - Nexus is the national network for Physics Students. Contact nexus@iop.org for specific details of sponsorship opportunities.
· The Undergraduate Bursary Scheme - bursaries of approximately £1K per annum to support physics students from poorer backgrounds, starting 2006. Scale: £10K upwards.

· Conferences - Help to support the physicists of tomorrow by sponsoring elements of the annual Young Physicists Conference.
Industry

· Key Insight Business Briefings - One of the Institute's most popular lecture series, attended by industrialists from all over the country, and headlined by some of the biggest names in policy and industry today. For more details email business@iop.org. Scale: £5K per event.
· Industry Awards - Sponsor the Institute's new annual award for best practice in Industry-University collaboration. Scale: £2K to £5K contributions.
· Introducing Enterprise - Support the Institute's initiative to introduce enterprise into undergraduate physics degrees, developing modules, and funding visiting professorships to facilitate effective delivery of the material. Scale: £20K contributions.
Conferences
