Quicksilver: Water-speed challenger to visit Leeds
16 September 2013
Reclaiming the water-speed record for Britain is the daunting but highly stimulating challenge Nigel Macknight set for himself and the Quicksilver team. The record has been held by Australia for 35 years and stands at 317.6 mph.
On 6 November at 5.30pm Nigel will be talking about the project in the Conference Auditorium at the University of Leeds. His multi-media presentation will outline the progress made thus far and includes film-clips illustrating the record’s dramatic history.
The talk is free and suitable for all ages. There will be coffee, tea, biscuits and bonfire toffee served from 5pm. For further details please see the Branch calendar.
