Lancashire and Cumbria Branch
The Lancashire and Cumbria branch area is fairly self-explanatory. We cover the postcode areas PR (Preston), FY (Fylde coast), BB (Blackburn and East Lancashire), LA (Lancaster, North Lancashire and South Cumbria) and CA (Carlisle and North Cumbria).
We collaborate with our neighbouring north west branches (Merseyside and Manchester and District) in organising the North West region of the IOP competition for schools: SciCast Physics. We also have our own schools competition, Eureka!, formerly organised by STEEL.
Whether you are a physicist or just (a bit!) interested in physics, then do join us at one of our events. They are not restricted to members - on the contrary, we warmly welcome everyone!
