Welcome to the Yorkshire Branch of the Institute Of Physics. The Institute is an international professional body with over 37,000 members, which promotes the advancement and dissemination of a knowledge of and education in the science of physics pure and applied.

A regular yearly event are the Presentations by Britain's Early-Stage Physicists at the House of Commons

Top Award: The Ogden Prize of £5,000 with the Cavendish Medal and Runner-Up Prizes

The Leeds Astronomical Society presents a yearly Astromeet usually in early November. Next event on Saturday 15 November 2008, doors open at 9.00am, first talk at 10.00am sharp, venue: The Clothworkers Hall and Foyer, School of Music, Leeds University.
