Branch Fun Day 2004
The annual Physics Fun Day took place on Saturday 19 June. The theme was Physics and aviation with talks, hands-on activities, exhibits, competitions with prizes, supervised events for children, refreshments and lots of other fun for everyone.
Activities:
- Start 2 pm. meet in the foyer
- Welcome 2.15 pm. Chris Bowdery, branch chair
- Talk 2.20 pm. Martin Shelley, assistant director, British National Space Centre, Space: securing our future, unlocking our past
- Talk 4 pm. Bob Fairclough (retired engineer), Lessons from the TSR2- TSR2 web site
- AGM 5 pm. (for all branch members)
- Exhibit and presentation Nigel Marshall, Spaced Out/Saturn in Lancaster Exhibit see a glider aircraft outside the the George Fox Building
- Activity launch air-powered rockets
- Children’s activity fold paper darts and see whose flies farthest; plus games
- Competitions three age groups, throughout the afternoon – put your brain in gear
- Refreshments - the cafe will be open
