Joule medal and prize

History
In 2008 Council decided to establish the Joule medal and prize.

Terms
The award shall be made for distinguished research in applied physics. The medal will be accompanied by a prize of £1000 and a certificate.

For her penetrating theoretical analyses of a range of photovoltaic materials and devices which have had a profound influence on solar cell design.
