The Institute of Physics Awards Committee is now seeking nominations for the Institute’s Awards 2008, and we need your help to nominate the most outstanding physicists in their respective fields.
As you may be aware, our awards portfolio is expanding to keep pace with the research interests of our community and to ensure that we cover all areas of modern physics. Many of the awards remain unchanged, but several have been renamed and there are 10 new awards, so your nominee could become the first ever winner. The prize money will also increase, so each medal will be accompanied by a prize of £2000.
The committee would particularly welcome nominations for outstanding women physicists and outstanding physicists from ethnic minorities.
Closing date: 26 March 2007
This year we are looking for nominations for the following medals and prizes:
Isaac Newton Medal of the Institute of Physics
International Bilateral Awards
For 2008 we are seeking nominations for the Holweck medal and prize.
