Applying lessons from an IOP Entrepreneurship workshop to the creation of a business.

Ifriky Tadadjeu Sokeng

Ifriky Tadadjeu Sokeng is a consultant on music, science and engineering projects in South Africa.

While working on his PhD in the F’SATI space programme at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2013, Mr Sokeng attended the IOP Entrepreneurship workshop in Durban, South Africa. The purpose of the entrepreneurship workshops is to both teach scientists how to start a business, and expose them to business opportunities which they likely would not otherwise know about.

After attending the entrepreneurship workshop, Mr Sokeng applied the skills learned, with his background in physics, computer science, and electrical and electronics engineering, and his passion for composing music, to create his consulting company Ifriky (Pty) Ltd.

While currently focusing more on the music side of the business, Mr Sokeng plans to further expand into science consulting, and also has aspirations to include sport consulting into his business.
