In order to promote closer contact, The Institute of Physics (IOP) and the Chinese Physical Society have a special agreement which allows for each society to send a delegate to a major conference or meeting organized by the partner society, and to exchange information on their programmes and events.
The IOP also offers free fellowships to 12 eminent Chinese physicists, while both societies exchange conference proceeding, reports and membership magazines.
On 7 December 2012 a workshop on nanophotonics and metamaterials was organised by the IOP and the Chinese Physical Society.
