International Committee
Purpose
The purpose of the committee is to develop, monitor and evaluate the Institute’s strategy to increase our emphasis on international activities.
The committee will meet at least twice per year, and report to Council as necessary.
Responsibilities and Powers
The International Committee is delegated the following responsibilities and powers by the Council of the Institute:
- To develop the Institute’s strategy to increase our emphasis on international activities;
- To monitor progress in delivery of the strategy;
- To approve the signature of agreements with other physics based societies outside the UK and Ireland;
- To consider and approve proposals for the Physics for Development Programme;
- To assist Directors and Managers in delivery of the strategy where appropriate;
- To report regularly to Council;
- To establish sub-committees and advisory groups as necessary.
