Isaac Newton lecture 2008
17 June 2008.
Quantum Information and the Foundations of Quantum Mechanics
The lecture is given by the inaugural winner of the Isaac Newton medal, Professor Anton Zeilinger, University of Vienna and introduced by Professor Sir Peter Knight, Imperial College.
Interview with Anton Zeilinger
During Anton Zeilinger's visit to the IOP we took the opportunity to talk to him about his life, his interests and motivations, and his views on the future of quantum theory and quantum information. This interview is accessible to anyone who is curious about physics, and what it means to be a physicist.
Jazz by the Abram Wilson Jazz Quartet
In order to mark the occasion of the award of the first Newton medal, the IOP held a concert following Anton Zeilinger's lecture. It seemed fitting, given Anton Zeilinger's fondness for jazz (see interview), to organise some jazz music for him. This is a short extract of the Abram Wilson Jazz Quartet's performance.
