How to join the Institute of Physics offline...

You can apply for membership of the Institute of Physics by downloading the appropriate application form, completing it and posting it to us together with the appropriate supporting evidence.

Affiliate

For anyone with an interest in, but no formal background in,  physics who wants to support the Institute’s objectives, and have access to member benefits.

Student

For those who are enrolled on a full-time physics related undergraduate course at university level.

Associate Member

For those who have recently obtained a first degree in the physical sciences or engineering or its equivalent.

Member

For those with at least three years post-degree experience during which professional skills have been acquired; the degree being in the physical sciences or engineering or its equivalent

Fellow

Indicates a very high level of achievement in physics and an outstanding contribution to the profession.
