Abstract.
Heat loads from ICRF and LH wave absorption in the SOL are characterized on JET from
the de-convolution of surface temperatures measured by infrared thermography. The
spatial localization, quantitative estimates, parametric dependence and physical origin of the
observed heat fluxes are documented. Implications of these observations are discussed for the
operation of JET with an ITER-Like Wall, featuring Beryllium tiles with reduced power handling capability.
