Fast Track Communications in Journal of Physics D: Applied PhysicsWe are very pleased to announce that, from 1st October 2007, Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics will receive submissions for its new Fast Track Communications (FTC) section, to begin publication in January 2008. FTCs are short, timely papers presenting important new developments in applied physics. They will be processed quickly and are available free to readers in the electronic journal. To facilitate a fast review process, FTCs should not exceed four journal pages (3500 words) in length. Details of the research which cannot be communicated under the length restriction, along with additional new material, may be published in a subsequent full paper. Authors may also refer to the journal's scope statement or guidelines for authors in our author services section. The section aims to be a high-quality, high-profile outlet for new and important research across all areas of applied physics including applied magnetism, plasmas, semiconductors and optoelectronics, applied surfaces and interfaces, and condensed matter. We look forward to seeing it grow and take shape over the next year. You can send your research to Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics online at IOP For Authors or by sending your manuscript by e-mail to jphysd@iop.org. Authors should submit a short statement with their FTC submission, outlining why they feel that the article merits high-priority publication. UPDATE September 2009: Some recent examples of high quality Fast Track Communications are available here. If you would like any further information please contact us at jphysd@iop.org Pallab Bhattacharya Sarah Quin |
