How to cite an article in Journal of Physics: Conference Series
Every proceedings published in Journal of Physics: Conference Series is published as a single journal volume. Starting with volume 63 (2007), JPCS switched to an article-numbering system which means that there are two ways to cite JPCS articles – depending on whether they were published before or after volume 63.
Citing an article in JPCS volume 63 onwards
Articles should be cited via the year, journal name, volume and six-digit article number. A typical JPCS citation might be:
F Martín 2007 J. Phys.: Conf. Ser. 88 012001
The pages in the PDF file of each article are numbered from 1. These page numbers should not normally be included in a reference. However, if it is desirable to indicate the length of an article, this can be done by including the number of pages, in parentheses, after the article number, for example:
F Martín 2007 J. Phys.: Conf. Ser. 88 012001 (16pp)
Citing an article in JPCS volumes 1 to 62
Up to, and including, volume 62 JPCS used a traditional page-numbering system so that articles in volumes 1 to 62 should be cited via year, journal name, volume and page number. For example:
G L Brovko et al 2007 J. Phys.: Conf. Ser. 62 1–22
