Preparing papers for Journal of Physics: Conference Series

Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS) uses author-supplied PDFs for all online and print publication. Authors are asked to prepare their papers, and PDF files, according to the templates and guidelines provided below – and any specific instructions provided by your conference organiser.

How to submit your paper

• Conferences using Editorial Manager™: If your conference is using this service, details and the submission link will be on your conference web site. By arrangement, JPCS provides access to a dedicated conference submission and peer review system via Editorial Manager™.


• Direct to organiser: if your conference is not using Editorial Manager™ please submit your paper direct to your conference organiser using the instructions on your conference web site.

What you will need to supply

The PDF file of your paper

• We recommend that authors use the JPCS Microsoft Word or LaTeX2e templates
• If you wish to use non-JPCS templates you must follow these essential requirements
• Before making a PDF please read the article checklists
• When you are ready to make a PDF please check our PDF guidelines

Any multimedia files you wish to publish online

• JPCS encourages authors to submit multimedia files to enhance the online versions of published research articles
• There are no fees or charges for including multimedia items with your paper
• The multimedia guidelines are included with the Microsoft Word or LaTeX2e templates but are also available as a separate download

A signed Assignment of Copyright Form

• The Assignment of Copyright (AOC) form is also included with the Microsoft Word and LaTeX2e templates 
• You can submit the AOC electronically (as a PDF) by scanning the printed and signed form
