Fast Track Communications in Journal of Physics B

Fast Track Communications (FTCs) have replaced Letters to the Editor across the Journal of Physics series to give a new emphasis to the speed of publication. For FTCs in Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics submission to online publication took an average of just 50 days in 2007.

FTCs are short, timely papers presenting important new developments. They will be processed quickly and are available free to readers in the electronic journal. To facilitate a fast review process, FTCs do not normally exceed eight journal pages (5000 words) and do not contain sections. Details of the research, which cannot be communicated under the length restriction, along with additional new material may be published in a subsequent full paper. The section is a high-quality, high-profile outlet for new and important research across all areas of atomic, molecular and optical physics including quantum optics and quantum information.

You can send your research to Journal of Physics B online, by simply entering an arXiv pre-print number or sending your manuscript by e-mail to jphysb@iop.org. To assist the referees, we ask that authors submit a short statement accompanying the FTC submission, outlining why they feel that the article merits high-priority publication.
