Abstract. We propose a scheme for protecting one-qubit information against one erasure. The scheme operates essentially by distributing quantum information over four qubits. Two versions of the method are considered: one of them is based on two spatially separated pairs of qubits, and the other is based on one pair of qubits and two spatially separated qubits.

Keywords: Qubit, erasure error, collective decoherence, CNOT operation
