Whilst there has been considerable media coverage about swine flu and its spread, the current position is that neither the UK Government nor the World Health Organisation ("WHO") have placed any restrictions on travel to the UK. Indeed, the UK's plans for dealing with the global pandemic have been identified as some of the best by the WHO.

The Institute of Physics (the "Institute") is keeping a close eye on developments in this area. As things stand, it is continuing to run its full conference programme and is encouraging participants to attend those conferences from all over the world. If, in the future, the relevant authorities place restrictions on travel to the UK then the Institute will take steps to liaise with people based overseas who are booked to attend conferences.
