Forthcoming Institute Conferences

Date: Thu, 20 September 2007
Venue: Cranfield Management Development Centre, Cranfield, UK
Organised by: Dielectrics Group of the Institute of Physics

Introduction

This one day meeting will be held to honour the memory of Professor Harry Block (pictured), who was for many years a distinguished member of the Dielectrics Group.  Professor Block, formerly Professor of Molecular Electronics at Cranfield University, was an international authority on the dielectric properties of polymers and made important contributions in electro-rheology.

Professor Harry Block

To reflect Professor Block's multi-disciplinary research interests and achievements, the meeting will welcome participation and contributions from biologists, chemists, engineers, materials scientists, physicists and technologists working on any aspect of field-induced effects in materials, including those of relevance to electronics, biotechnology, advanced displays and mechanical actuators.
