PDF version of 'Call for Papers'
The Nanoscale Physics and Technology group of the Institute of Physics are organising a two day meeting, entitled ‘Nanoscale physics and technology: the interface with medical and biological sciences’. The meeting is designed to bring together scientists from across the disciplines, either already working within this inter-disciplinary field, or interested in learning more about this exciting area. A series of sessions are planned, covering topics such as nanobiomaterials, biomimetics (i.e. nanostructures in biology and their application to engineering), nanophotonics, nanobiosensors, nanoscience approaches for bioscience and nanomedicine (i.e. drug delivery, tissue engineering, imaging), nanotoxicology, the interface of nanoengineering and nanoelectronics (including nanofluids, biomolecular approaches and sensing) and new and improved techniques for the study of biological material on the nanoscale. The sessions are to be formulated to provide good discussion opportunities. We aim to bring together a range of scientists from across the disciplines with a plan to promote some lively discussion and potential for developing and creating new ides.
