Forthcoming Institute Conferences

Date:03 April 2007 to 05 April 2007
Venue:University of Surrey
Organised by:Nuclear and Particle Physics Division

Introduction

PDF version of the first announcement and call for papers

Four Institute of Physics subject groups will be holding their annual conferences jointly under the umbrella of the Nuclear and Particle Physics Divisional Conference in 2007. Nuclear Physics, High Energy Particle Physics, Gravitational Physics and the newly-formed Astroparticle Physics Group will meet together for the first time. Together, they will form the largest, most exciting and broadest ranged NPP divisional conference ever held. Over the course of the three days, there will be joint plenary sessions covering topics of broad interest to all delegates, from the Higgs to cosmology, as well as separate sessions for each of the groups. The theme of the conference is Future Facilities, in which each of the four communities will be showcasing the new physics that they will be addressing in the coming decade. The conference will also provide opportunities for research students and young postdocs to present their work during the many parallel sessions.

Location
The conference will be held at the University of Surrey, Guildford Campus, one of the largest and most accessible conference venues in Surrey.

The campus is located directed off the A3 and only 9 miles from the M25 motorway. It is easily accessible by rail and air with a regular service operating from London Waterloo, also the terminus for Eurostar. Gatwick and Heathrow International Airports have convenient links to Guildford with an approximate journey time of 45 minutes.

Accommodation will be provided on campus, a short distance from the conference technical sessions.

*Abstracts for Gravitational Physics are for POSTER presentations only.

Submission
Submit your abstract on-line
Abstracts should be a maximum of 50 words in length (not including title, authors' or speakers' name and affiliation).  Please submit your abstract as either a Word document file or plain text following the guidelines below. The abstract deadline is 31 January 2007.

  • The title of the abstract should be in lower case with only the first letter capitalised
  • If submitting plain text, any equations and formulas should be submitted in Latex
  • Indicate preference for oral or poster work
  • Indicate whether the work is predominately student work

Presenters will receive a reference number confirming successful submission. Please quote this number if making subsequent enquiries regarding your abstract. Presenters may also view their abstract on-line via the members' area http://members.iop.org/, instructions will be provided in your confirmation e-mail.

If you are unable to submit your abstract on-line or encounter any problems, please send a copy to claire.garland@iop.org

Exhibition
