Introduction

The Physical Acoustics Group of the Institute of Physics is holding a Tutorial Day and their Annual General Meeting on Thursday 13 September 2007 at the Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London.

The tutorial subjects will focus on 'inhomogeneous media':

  • Theory of propagation
  • Measurements and experimental techniques
  • Systems and signal processing

The meeting will commence at 11:30 with the AGM (which all members of the Group & Institute of Physics are encouraged to attend) and finish at 16:45.

The Group officers and committee will be elected or re-elected as necessary. Nominations for election to committee and resignations from office to be forwarded to Dr. Nader Saffari by no later than 30 August  2007.

1. Venue
The conference will be held at The Institute of Physics, London.  Location maps will be sent to all registered participants.

2. Conference Fees
The fees for the conference includes refreshments and lunches, conference material, basic costs and administration.  The registration fee is as follows:

**Concessionary Rate - Institute Members
The Concessionary rate is available to student and retired Institute of Physics membership holders. (Please submit proof of membership status together with your registration form).

***Non-Members
Registrants paying this fee will automatically become affiliate members of the Institute of Physics for 12 months and will receive copies of Physics World. As an affiliate member you will be entitled to attend all conferences at the member’s rate for the year and to join one technical or professional group at no extra charge.

3. On-line Registration is recommended and the most secure method for those wishing to pay be credit or debit card.  All payments will be processed securely using WorldPay and confirmation of your payment will be sent by e-mail once the transaction is complete

4. Confirmation of Booking
On-line
- Confirmation of your booking will appear on the screen prior to entering payment details. Please print this page for your records. Confirmation will follow via mail within five days of registering.
Registration via hard copy - Confirmation of your booking will be sent within ten days of registering. If payment is not enclosed with your registration form, you will receive a pro-forma invoice which must be paid prior to the conference.

Value Added Tax
Charges shown in this document are exempt from VAT unless otherwise indicated. Where VAT is applicable it is shown and calculated at the current standard rate of 17.5%. If the rate is altered as a result of government legislation charges may be adjusted accordingly. A tax invoice/receipt will be issued to those indicating that this is required on the registration form. The Institute's VAT registration number is 461-6000-84.

5. Cancellations
Registrants who cancel their booking before the cancellation deadline of  7 September 2007 will receive a full refund minus a 20% administrative charge. All cancellations must be in writing (please note that organisers cannot accept any cancellation made over the telephone, unless it is accompanied by a cancellation of the booking in writing). No refund can be made to those notifying cancellation from  7 September 2007.
