Venue and Accommodation

Venue:

The Conference will be held at the University of Warwick Conference Park, located on the southern outskirts of Coventry. The technical sessions will be held in the Physics Department with all meals being held in Rootes Social Building. A campus map is available to download (map references: Physics Department D4 - building 44, Rootes Social Building: C6 - building 49). 

Please note meeting rooms, accommodation and dining are not under one roof. It is therefore advisable to bring suitable clothing and umbrellas as appropriate. 

Messages
The telephone number for colleagues or family to leave urgent messages for you between 07:00 and 23:00 is +44 (0)24 7652 2280. For emergency messages outside these times please call the main Switchboard on +44 (0)24 7652 3523. Visitors in need of emergency assistance should contact Security on internal extension 22222. 

Internet
PC's with free internet and e-mail access are available for both day and residential guests in Rootes Reception. These may be accessed 07:00 - 23:00 Monday - Sunday.

Travel: 

By road
The University of Warwick is located at the centre of Midlands Motorway Network. A location map is available to download, alternatively visit the University of Warwick website at http://www.warwickconferences.com/, following the link ‘getting here’, 

By rail
Coventry Intercity Station is on the Main West Coast Line with regular trains connecting with other major towns and cities. Trains run every half hour to London with an approximate journey time of 70 minutes. Services to Birmingham International and Birmingham New Street are frequent throughout the day.  There is a large taxi rank at Coventry Station, just four miles from the Conference Park. Alternatively a regular bus service is available.

By air
Birmingham International Airport is only 20 minutes by taxi. A frequent train service operates to Coventry from Birmingham International station, adjacent to the airport. Coventry Airport is situated at Baginton, to the east of the city and is just 15 minutes from the Conference Park.

Car Parking
Please note that not all car parks are adjacent to your registration and accommodation areas. Conference delegates are invited to park in car parks 15, 8, 6 and 7. If you are parked in car parks 15 or 7, you will need to collect a code from Rootes Reception in order to exit these car parks. All of the University's car parks are displayed on the campus map. Car parking is free of charge. Disabled parking spaces are available close to the entrance of main buildings.

 



Meals:

All meals will be served in the Rootes Social Building Restaurant on central campus. Rootes offers buffet style food daily - with cooked or continental breakfast, a selection of hot and cold buffet selection at lunch and a two course evening meal.

Please note that breakfast and evening meals are provided for residential guests only except for the conference dinner which is included in the registration fee. The Conference Dinner will be held in the Chancellors Suite in Rootes Social Building. Breakfast will be served daily between 07:30 - 09:30. Lunch and dinner will be served at the times indicated in the programme.

Dietary Requirements
A range of special diets can be catered for. Please inform the conferences department of any special requirements prior to the event.

Bar Facilities
A bar is located on the first floor of Rootes Social Building and serves draught beers, a selection of bottled beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks and a variety of teas and coffee.

Accommodation:

Single En-Suite Accommodation will be available on campus and is within walking distance of the conference sessions. All bedrooms have: clock radio, free internet access, a network point, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and are fully equipped with towels and toiletries. Iron and Ironing boards are available in the kitchen/lounge areas.  Please note that bedrooms do not have telephones. Coin operated and phone card telephones are available throughout the campus.

Rooms are charged per room per night. Accommodation is not included within the registration fee and must be booked when registering for the conference.

Checking in/out
Rooms will be available after 15:00 for check in from the reception desk in Rootes Social Building. Please vacate your bedroom by 09:30 on your day of departure. On arrival, please inform reception of any difficulties you may have in the unlikely event of an evacuation. A luggage store is available in Rootes Social Building. 

Rootes Reception is open 07:00 - 23:00. If you will be arriving later than 23:00, please contact the Conferences Department. 

Shuttle Bus
The University operates a complimentary shuttle service bus from Rootes Building, where you will register for your bedroom, to your accommodation. This service runs between the hours of 07:00 and 10:00 and 15:00 - 20:00.

Keys
One key will be provided, which will give you access to both your room and the outer door of the residences. Keys should be collected from Rootes Reception and returned upon departure to either reception or in the boxes situated in the entrance halls of each residence.

Internet access
All bedrooms on campus are networked for free internet access (for computers with an Ethernet network card). Internet cables are available from Rootes Reception. Alternatively, PC's with free internet and e-mail access are available for both day and residential guests in Rootes Reception. These may be accessed 07:00 - 23:00 Monday - Sunday.
