Please note that the conference dinner is not included within the Two Day Non-Residential and the One Day Non-Residential Fee. Places at the dinner can be reserved at an additional charge of £35 per head and should be booked when completing registration.  Accompanying Guests may also attend the dinner at a cost of £35 per head plus VAT.

The Members rate is available to:
- All members of the Institute of Physics including those with applications pending
- Staff at Institute Affiliated Plus Schools
- Members of co-sponsoring Institutes and Societies
- Members of other Physics societies which have a Companion Society or other collaboration agreement with the Institute of Physics
- Members of the UK Ferroelectrics Network
- Members of the BAN (Business Affiliates Network).

***Non-Members
Registrants paying this fee will automatically become Affiliate Members of the Institute of Physics for 12 months and will receive copies of the magazine Physics World. As an Affiliate Member you will be entitled to attend all conferences at the Member’s rate for the year and to join one technical or professional group at no extra charge.

***Concessionary Rate - Institute members
The Concessionary rate is available to Institute of Physics student and retired membership holders.  (Please submit proof of status of your membership together with your registration form).

Student membership is available from £13 depending on length of course and status. Full details can be found on the Membership website or by contacting membership@iop.org for an application form. The concessionary fee is applicable to those with an application for membership pending by completion of the PDF registration form.

UK Ferroelectrics Network
Participants are invited to join the UK Ferroelectrics Network. The joining fee is £10 (except for students for whom membership is free) and is payable at the meeting. Cheques should be made payable to 'UK Ferroelectrics Network'.

1.    On-line Registration
Online Registration is recommended and the most secure method for for those wishing to pay by credit or debit card. All payments will be processed securely using WorldPay and confirmation of payment will be sent to you by e-mail once the transaction has been completed. Please note that unless payment is received prior to the conference, your booking will not be guaranteed. NOTE: Those registering at the Member or Concessionary rate will be required to submit their membership number. For members of other societies, please indicate from the drop down list to which society you belong.

If you are unable to pay by debit or credit card please download a PDF Registration Document  and mail your registration form, together with a remittance for fees to Registrations Department, Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London W1B 1NT, UK. You can also fax it to +44 (0)20 7470 4900.

You are strongly advised to register as soon as possible.

2.  Value Added Tax
Charges shown in this document are exempt from VAT unless otherwise indicated. Where VAT is applicable it is shown and calculated at the current standard rate of 17.5%. If the rate is altered as a result of government legislation charges may be adjusted accordingly. A tax invoice/receipt will be issued to those indicating that this is required on the registration form. The Institute's VAT registration number is 461-6000-84.

3.  Methods of payment for postal registrations

  • Cheque, Bank Draft -Payable to the Institute of Physics in either Pound Sterling, Euros (rate of 1.46) or US Dollar (rate of 1.80).

4.  Confirmation of Booking, Registration Enquiries Online
Details of your bookings will appear on screen prior to entering credit card details. Please print this page for your records. Registration via hard copy - You should receive confirmation of your booking within ten days of registering. If payment is not enclosed with your registration form, you will be sent a pro-forma invoice which must be paid prior to the conference.

5.  Cancellations 
No payment can be refunded to those cancelling after 1 August 2007.  For cancellations made before this date a 20% cancellation administration fee applies.  All cancellations must be made in writing (please note that we are unable to accept cancellations made over the telephone).
