IOP Superconductivity Group Seminar: Development and Applications of HTS Conductors

This one day seminar on development and applications of high temperature superconductors (HTS) will address the current development status of devices using HTS conductors and the prospects for their full exploitation. Topics covered will include:

  • Key characteristics of HTS conductors that will lead to revolutionary applications
  • Latest progress in the development of long length YBCO conductors
  • State of the art in the development and testing of power applications and magnets
  • Cryogenic systems for HTS devices
  • Prospects and timescales for successful commercial exploitation – and the major challenges to be solved

Student Prize - A prize for the best student contribution will be awarded at the conference. Please ensure that you indicate your student status when submitting your abstract.

  • enter relevant details noting that fields denoted with * are mandatory.
  • enter your abstract title.
  • select your preferred presentation method (oral, poster or either) and whether the work is student work or not.
  • enter author details - please note that the main author is considered as the corresponding author.
  • browse and upload your file including figures and references and click ok to proceed.
  • select 'submit' to complete your submission.

 

An email confirming your successful submission will be sent to the corresponding author with further information. If you do not receive a confirmation email you may not have fully completed the process. Fees

The registration fee includes attendance at all lectures, refreshments and lunch, the welcome reception and all conference material.

The fee directly below, applies to those registering on-line using a valid credit or debit card. Please note that the £20 discount will be applied on the basket page when credit card has been selected as the method of payment. The conferences department reserves the right to amend your fee without prior notice if an incorrect payment method is selected.

Concessionary

The Concessionary rate is available to student and retired members of the Institute of Physics and those on a career break or a low income.

Non Members

Registrants paying this fee will automatically become affiliate members of the Institute of Physics for 12 months (3 months for one day meetings) and will receive copies of Physics World. As an affiliate member you will be entitled to attend all conferences at the members' rate for the period of your membership and to use MyIOP - the member-only network. Full details will be sent to you after the conference. In order to take advantage of this affiliate membership payment for the conference must be received in accordance with our payment terms.

Exhibition

An exhibition will be held alongside the conference for those companies wishing to advertise their products. Exhibitors will be given a floor space of approximately 2m x 1m for either (a) two pull-up banners each less than 1m in width or (b) one pull-up banner less than 1m in width and one half of a shared table (which amounts to 90cm x 60cm) for displaying flyers and small objects.

All materials must be transported to the venue by hand by the exhibitors.
