Investing in the Future of Physics: New Degrees in Physical Science

Introduction

This meeting is an opportunity for stakeholders in science education to exchange views on the development of a general science from GCSE to HE.

Programme

Registration and General Information

1. Venue
The conference will be held at the Institute of Physics. Maps will be sent to all registered participants.


2. Conference Fees
The fees for the conference include refreshments and lunches, conference material, basic costs and administration charges. The registration fee is as follows:

*Members of the Institute of Physics
the Members rate is available to:
All members of the Institute of Physics including those with applications pending
Staff at Institute Affiliated Plus Schools
Members of co-sponsoring Institutes and Societies
Members of other Physics societies which have a Companion Society or other collaboration agreement with the Institute of Physics
Members of the BAN (Business Affiliates Network).

**Concessionary Rate - Institute members
The Concessionary rate is available to student and retired members and those on a career break or a low income. (Please submit proof of status together with your registration form).

***Non-Members
Registrants paying this fee will automatically become affiliate members of the Institute of Physics for 12 months and will receive copies of Physics World. As an affiliate member you will be entitled to attend all conferences at the member’s rate for the year and to join one technical or professional group at no extra charge.

On-line Registration

On-line registration is now available.   NOTE: Those registering at the member or concessionary rate will be required to submit their membership number. For members of other societies, please indicate from the drop down list to which society you belong. Note on-line registrations will be accepted only if accompanied by a valid credit of debit card; all payments will be processed securely using WorldPay. Confirmation of payment will be sent to you by e-mail once the transaction has been completed.

If you are unable to pay by debit or credit card please download a PDF Registration Form and m ail your registration form, together with a remittance for fees to Registrations Department, Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, LondonW1B 1NT, UK. You can also fax it to +44 (0)20 7470 4900. Please note that unless payment is received prior to the conference, your booking will not be guaranteed.

You are strongly advised to register as soon as possible.


3. Value Added Tax

Charges shown in this document are exempt from VAT unless otherwise indicated. Where VAT is applicable it is shown and calculated at the current standard rate of 17.5%. If the rate is altered as a result of government legislation charges may be adjusted accordingly. A tax invoice/receipt will be issued to those indicating that this is required on the registration form. The Institute's VAT registration number is 461-6000-84.


4. Methods of payment for postal registrations

Cheque, Bank Draft - Payable to the Institute of Physics in either Pound Sterling, Euros (rate of 1.46) or US Dollar (rate of 1.80).

5. Confirmation of Booking, Registration Enquiries Online

Details of your bookings will appear on screen prior to entering credit card details. Please print this page for your records. Registration via hard copy - You should receive confirmation of your booking within ten days of registering. If payment is not enclosed with your registration form, you will be sent a pro-forma invoice which must be paid prior to the conference.

6. Cancellations  
No payment can be refunded to those canceling after 6 December 2006. All cancellations must be made in writing (please note that we are unable to accept cancellations made over the telephone).
