Venue

The conference will be held at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) on the North Quadrant of the University of Manchester campus. Located in The John Garside Building on the Sackville Street campus, the Centre is easily accessible by road, rail and air.

BY AIR:

Manchester International Airport is only 16 km away from The Manchester Conference Centre.

Getting to the venue from Manchester Airport By Bus - There are several services (Express and Local) to the city centre (journey time 30 - 50 mins) please enquire at the Airport Information Desk for details.

Getting to the venue from Manchester Airport By Train - 24 hour service, 7 days a week, every 15 minutes in peak times direct to Piccadilly Station. From Piccadilly Station, follow the signs for "Taxis". Immediately outside the station main entrance, turn right and cross London Road, then cross Whitworth Street to the Bulls Head pub. Turn down South Pump Street and proceed under the railway arch (passing Echoes Nursery on your right). You will now see signposts directing you to various parts of the site

From London Heathrow Airport –

  • Heathrow Express to London Paddington - The journey time is 15 minutes and the trains run every 15 minutes. A single fare is £14.50 and it is £28 for a return. Then from Paddington take either the circle line or the Hammersmith and City Line to Euston Square and from the rail directions above
  • Tube trains operate every five minutes into central London with a journey time of approximately 1 hour. Cost is around £5. Change at Leicester Square and take the Northern Line upto Euston then follow the rail instructions above.
  • The 285 local bus service links Heathrow to Feltham rail station. From Feltham there are frequent trains to London Waterloo. The combined journey time of the bus and train is one hour and 40 minutes. The cost is under £5. From Waterloo take the Northern line to Euston then follow the rail instructions above.

 

BY RAIL:

Trains from London Euston run to Picadilly every half hour throughout the day, see www.thetrainline.com for times.
